MaineHousing has oversight over a small portion of rental housing in Maine, but those without rental assistance do not fall under our authority. If you are having a hard time paying your rent due to the coronavirus, talk with your landlord about other payment options. For general information about rental laws including leases and evictions the Maine Attorney General’s Office  may be able to help. You may also contact Pine Tree Legal  if you are facing an eviction or have issues with your landlord.
